Crafted in homage to the revered Rams Head V2 circuit, Theophane stands as a gateway to the tones synonymous with this iconic 70s circuit. Each meticulously assembled build oozes character, boasting the distinctive lengthy sustain, harmonically rich cascading fuzz, responsive dynamics and precise note separation expected from a well balanced Rams Head. Theophane incorporates carefully selected New Old Stock components where it matters, populated on a purpose-designed PCB that faithfully follows the layout of the original 3003 circuit. The NOS Transistors and Diodes undergo rigorous scrutiny, including testing, auditioning, and noise screening. Once selected, they are paired with a PCB loaded with tight-tolerance resistors and capacitors. The outcome is a consistently reproducible product that faithfully captures the iconic sound. The Hammond 1590J enclosures are hand brushed & polished, screen printed, drilled & assembled in house. Using high-quality hardware from Alpha & Neutrik, an indicator LED, powered by battery and/or diode-protected 9VDC and fitted with premium knobs for the period aesthetic, these pedals are built to withstand the rigours of road and pedalboard life. In essence, Theophane is a vintage-inspired muff, dragged kicking and screaming into the present day, encapsulated in a modern package with all the mod cons we've come to expect.
